Lanabase Changes when DOS Client not In Default Directory (99192)

This article was previously published under Q99192

SUMMARY

When you install a LAN Manager 2.2 Windows client for NetBEUI and TCP/IP, the TCP/IP LANA base changes to 0 instead of 1 if you don't install an MS-DOS client in the default directory (LANMAN.DOS). To keep this from happening, you must either install the MS-DOS client in the default directory or manually change the PROTOCOL.INI file.

Note: LANA = local area network adapter. Here is a sample PROTOCOL.INI:
 [PROTMAN]
  DRIVERNAME = PROTMAN$
  DYNAMIC = YES
  PRIORITY = NETBEUI

[TCPIP_XIF]
