How to use Microsoft Update to update Windows Live Toolbar 3.0 (923013)

Windows Live Toolbar 3.0 is now out of the beta stage and is available for general use. This release offers many improvements and new functionality. For more information about this release, visit the following Web site:

When you try to update Windows Live Toolbar 3.0 from the beta version to the final version, you will receive an error message that states that you must uninstall the Windows Live Toolbar 3.0 beta version before you install the final version. When you remove the Windows Live Toolbar 3.0 beta version, you may lose stored settings and data.

To upgrade Windows Live Toolbar 3.0 from the beta version to the final version, use the update that is available from Microsoft Update.

Make sure that the computer meets the minimum system requirements.
Accept the Windows Live Toolbar 3.0 update when it is distributed by Microsoft Update.
The Windows Live Toolbar 3.0 Microsoft Update is the only way to automatically update from the beta version to the final version.

If you do not accept this update, you must manually remove the Windows Live Toolbar 3.0 beta version. Then download and install the latest version of Windows Live Toolbar to obtain the final version. To do this, visit the following Web site:

You must have Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or a later version installed. However, Microsoft Internet Explorer does not have to be the default browser.
You must have of the following operating systems:

If you also install Windows Desktop Search, you must have the following system requirements:
