This article discusses the databases that we support for use with Automated Deployment Services (ADS) in Microsoft Windows Server 2003.

Automated Deployment Services uses a database to store information about devices, jobs, and images. The controller database may be either of the following:
  • A Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database
  • A Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE) database
Note We do not support databases that use later versions of Microsoft SQL Server.
