The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Entourage 2004 for Mac

SYMPTOMS

When you create a calendar event in Microsoft Entourage 2004 for Mac, the event is moved to a day in the month of December for that year. Each successive event that you create is moved to the same day in December.

Additionally, if you try to add an event that spans two months, you may receive the following error message:
The ending time is before the start time.

CAUSE

This problem occurs in certain localized versions of Entourage 2004 for Mac. These localized versions include the Portuguese version and the Brazilian version. The problem occurs because Entourage 2004 for Mac does not support textual separators in the system date in some localized versions.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use a comma (,) instead of "de" as a separator between the day, month, and year. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Apple menu, click System Preferences.
  2. Click International.
  3. Click Formats, and then click Customize in the Dates area.
  4. Change "de" to a comma in the sample date fields, and then click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
