SYMPTOMS

When you try to use a Forms tool in Groove Virtual Office, you may receive the following error message:
A member of this workspace has updated the design of this form with features that require a later version of Groove Virtual Office. You must update Groove in order to resume using this form.

CAUSE

If the correct version of Groove is installed on all computers that are associated with your account, this error message indicates a data problem. This issue occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • The Auto-create Records option is enabled in the Forms tool and is set to use a default form.
  • Someone deleted the form that was selected under Defaults.
In this case, any workspace members that are selected under Auto-create Options receive this error message when the members enter the tool. This issue occurs because the record cannot be created.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue when the Auto-create records for option is not set to All Members, have an unaffected member change the setting.

If the member's permissions do not allow for this, have the member save the data. If all current members were selected individually under Selected Members, invite a new member to the workspace to change the setting.

Note If the Auto-create records for option is set to All Members, you cannot recover from this situation.
