Error message when you use a custom Forms tool in Groove: "The selected parent record has been deleted or is invalid" (922201)

SYMPTOMS

When you use a custom Forms tool in Groove Virtual Office, you may receive the following error message:

The selected parent record has been deleted or is invalid. You will now be returned to the view.

CAUSE

This issue may occur when you have a custom Forms tool which is configured to auto-create a new record when you enter the tool. However, the default form, or the only form, is a Response form.

In Groove Virtual Office 3.0, this error loops. If you are stuck in this loop and you do not have a backup copy of the workspace that was made before the problematic change, contact a support representative for help to correct the problem.

Groove Virtual Office 3.1 lets you continue into the Designer tool and resolve the problem. In most cases, Groove Virtual Office 3.1 prevents the problem.
