INTRODUCTION

This article describes why the user name view filter in the Groove Forms tool only works with fields that contain a ContactURL field.

MORE INFORMATION

Because a user's displayed identity name does not have to be unique, the user name view filter identifies the user by the ContactURL field of the user instead of by the displayed text. Therefore, this view filter only works with fields that contain a ContactURL field.

For an example of how this view filter is used, match a user name with the _CreatedByURL system field in the view filter.

When a Groove Forms document is saved, the _CreatedByURL field is populated with the ContactURL field of the user who saved the document. This view filter compares the active ContactURL field to the _CreatedByURL field. Then, the view filter lists the documents that are created by the current user who is logged in.
