SYMPTOMS

You try to open a Groove Mobile Workspace for SharePoint Homepage tool or a Groove Forms tool on Microsoft Windows Server 2003. When you do this, you may receive a Microsoft Internet Explorer error message that resembles the following error message:
Content within this application coming from the Web site listed below is being blocked by Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration.

groovetelespace://grooveIdentity_...

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the Groove Mobile Workspace for SharePoint Homepage tool uses JavaScript hyperlinks, and the Forms tool uses ActiveX Controls. By default, in Windows Server 2003, the Advanced Security settings in Internet Explorer block content and display an error message. This occurs every time that you try to load a page that uses ActiveX Controls or JavaScript if the page's URL does not correspond to a trusted Web site.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use one or more of the following methods, as appropriate for your situation:
  • Uninstall the Enhanced Security Configuration for Internet Explorer.
  • Enable the Active Scripting option in the Internet zone to use the Mobile Workspace for SharePoint Homepage tool.
  • Enable the scripted ActiveX Controls option in the Internet zone to use the Forms tool.
Important Windows Server 2003 is not a supported operating system for Groove Virtual Office. These workarounds weaken the default Windows Server 2003 security. The workarounds are provided for your information. The workarounds may not be suited for your situation.

MORE INFORMATION

The error message dialog box includes an Add button to add the URL as a trusted site. However, when you click this button, the operation fails, and you receive another error message. This occurs because Internet Explorer tries to parse the URL and does not recognize "groovetelespace" as a protocol.
