SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. You move a file from the Groove Files tool to a file system that is located in Microsoft Windows. After you move the file, the Windows file system prompts you to replace an existing file of the same file name. In this prompt, you click No.
However, in this scenario, the file that you moved is lost. You cannot locate the file in the Windows file system or in the Groove Files tool.CAUSEThis problem occurs because the move operation was canceled when you clicked No in the prompt. However, Windows still notifies Groove that the move operation was completed. Therefore, Groove deletes the file in the Groove tool because Windows does not indicate that the file was not copied to the Windows file system.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, you can recover the file in the Groove Files tool. To recover the file, click Undo on the Edit menu.
Note This workaround must be completed before Groove removes the data for the file. This occurs when all workspace endpoints have received the change, and you exit the workspace. To be safe, click Undo as soon as possible after you click No in the prompt from the Windows file system.
