The information in this article applies to:

  • Groove Enterprise Management Server 2.5
  • Groove Enterprise Management Server 3.0
  • Groove Enterprise Management Server 3.1

SYMPTOMS

You try to access Gms.dll from Groove Enterprise Management Server on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003. When you do this, you receive an error message that resembles the following error message:
Page cannot be displayed.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because Windows Server 2003 has a more restrictive default configuration than Microsoft Windows 2000. Therefore, some services and files that are needed by Enterprise Management Server may not be available.

To run Groove Enterprise Management Server on Windows Server 2003, you must open the Web Server Extensions folder in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. Then, make the following modifications:
  • Enable Groove to use C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\gms.dll.
  • Enable Groove to use C:\inetpub\wwwroot\admin\gms.dll.
  • Enable Active Server Pages.
