A personal computer that has a CPU that is faster than 2.5 GHz may stop responding when you connect a Windows CE-based device to the personal computer by using a USB cable (921907)

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You connect a Microsoft Windows CE-based device to a personal computer by using a USB cable. You establish a Microsoft ActiveSync connection between the personal computer and the Windows CE-based device. The personal computer has a CPU that is faster than 2.5 gigahertz (GHz). The USB driver on the Windows CE-based device has an interrupt endpoint. You log on to the personal computer and log off from the personal computer several times. In this scenario, the personal computer may stop responding (hang).

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the ActiveSync driver does not support a Windows CE USB driver that has an interrupt endpoint.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, do not add an interrupt endpoint to the USB driver on the Windows CE-based device. Because the interrupt endpoint is optional in this scenario, you do not have to add the interrupt endpoint on the device.
