SYMPTOMSWhen you install Microsoft Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs, Setup may stop responding during Plug and Play device installation. WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, use one of these methods: - Select US - English as the language for non-Unicode programs during Setup. After you install Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs on the computer, select the language locale that you want. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type intl.cpl, and then click OK.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- In the Select a language to match the language version of the non-Unicode programs you want to use box, click the locale that you want, and then click OK.
- Before you install Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs, disable optical devices, such as CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drives, by configuring BIOS settings. Enable the optical devices after a successful installation.
Notes- Do not run Setup from a CD-ROM.
- Contact the computer manufacturer for information about how to configure the BIOS settings to disable optical devices.
