You receive an "iesetup.exe is not a valid win32 application" error message
Symptom When you try to install Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 or Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:
iesetup.exe is not a valid win32 application
Cause This error occurs if you try to install the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 or Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3.Resolution To resolve this issue, download and install the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer 7. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
You receive an error message after you install Internet Explorer 7 and restart the computer
Symptoms After Internet Explorer 7 is installed and the computer is restarted, you may receive the following error message:
motiveSB.EXE Entry point not found.
getprocessimagefilenameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.dll
Resolution To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.
- On the Startup tab, click to clear the motiveSB check box, and then click OK.
- Restart the computer, and then verify that the issue is resolved.
Issues that may occur when you use Internet Explorer 7 Beta
You cannot add the E-mail command to the toolbar
SymptomsWhen you view the toolbar in Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2, you cannot see the
E-mail command. Additionally, you cannot add the
E-mail command to the toolbar. Workaround To resolve this issue in Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3. You must add the Read Mail button. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the Internet Explorer Beta 3 menu bar, click the Tools button, point to Toolbars, and then click Customize.
- In the Customize Toolbar dialog box, under Available toolbar buttons, select the Read Mail button, click Add, and then click Close.
A workaround is not available for this issue in Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2.
Internet Explorer 7 closes immediately and you do not receive an error message
Symptoms When you try to start Internet Explorer 7, it may close immediately. When this occurs, you do not receive an error message. WorkaroundTo work around this issue, you must remove Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2, and then install Internet Explorer 6.
To remove Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
- In the Currently installed programs list, click Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2, and then click Remove.
- Follow the instructions in the Software Update Removal Wizard to remove Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2.

Workaround: In this case, you must restart the computer that is running Internet Explorer 7 beta. If the problem persists, you may have to remove Internet Explorer 7 beta, and then reinstall Internet Explorer 7 beta.
When you open a new tab, the browser closes

Cause This issue may be occur when you have an older version of the Google Desktop installed on the computer. Workaround To work around this issue, you must install the latest version of the Google Desktop.

Symptoms When you try to open Internet Explorer 7 Beta, you receive the following error message:

Cause This issue may occur when you have an older version of MSN Toolbar installed on the computer.
Workaround In this case, you may have to install the most recent version of Windows Live Toolbar.
You receive an error message that states that the Web site is unsupported or is the wrong version

You receive an "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error message when you try to visit an FTP Web site
SymptomsWhen you try to visit an FTP Web site, you receive the following error message:
