This article describes how to change an account or a category from a personal item to a business item in Microsoft Money.

To change an account or a category from a personal item to a business item, follow these steps:
  1. On the Banking tab, under Common tasks, click Organize Business Accounts and Categories. In Microsoft Money 2005, click Change Account Usage.

    Note In Microsoft Money 2003 and Microsoft Money 2004, click Setup Accounts on the Account list, and then click Change Account Usage.
  2. Click Add, and then select Account to change an account.
  3. Select the item that you want to change, and then click Add.
  4. To change a category, repeat steps 2 and 3. In step 2, select Category instead of Account.
