The MOM 2005 Notification Workflow Solution Accelerator is not supported on a SQL Server 2000 cluster (917666)

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Notification Services runs on a SQL Server 2000 cluster. However, the MOM 2005 Notification Workflow Solution Accelerator application that runs on SQL Server 2000 Notification Services is not supported on a SQL Server 2000 cluster.

There are two methods to work around this issue:

Method 1

Move the MOM database from the clustered SQL Server to another non-clustered SQL server. For more information about how to move a MOM database to a new location, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Method 2

Install a new MOM management group that uses the Notification Workflow Solution Accelerator. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Install a new MOM management group using a non-clustered SQL database
2. Configure the original MOM management group to forward alerts to the new MOM management group by using the MOM to MOM Product Connector.
3. Install the Notification Workflow Solution Accelerator on the new MOM management group.
4. On the new MOM management group, configure Notification Workflow Solution Accelerator subscriptions to be based on computer names.
   
   Note You have to configure subscriptions in this manner because the computer group names are not included in the alerts.
