You can only write a check to pay the bill when you create or change a recurring bill in Money 2006 (916916)

SYMPTOMS

When you create or change a recurring bill in Microsoft Money 2006, you can only write a check to pay the bill.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when Money is configured to use the Essential Bills feature instead of the Advanced Bills feature.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Make sure that you configure Money 2006 to work with the MSN Billpay Service or with your financial institution's bill payment services. For more information about how to configure online services, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

  2. Start Money 2006.
  3. In Bills Summary under Other Tasks, click Change Bills Settings.
  4. Click Use Advanced Bills.
  5. Click OK two times.
When you create or change a bill, you have the following payment options:
  • Write check
  • Print this transaction
  • Other
  • Epay or apay
