The Internet Explorer 6 Content Advisor does not correctly screen out objectionable content (913501)

RESOLUTION

1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. Click the Content tab.
4. In the Content Advisor area, click Settings.
5. Type the Supervisor password, and then click OK.
   
   Note If you do not know or have forgotten the Supervisor password, contact Microsoft Product Support Services for help. For more information about how to contact Microsoft Product Support Services, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

6. Click the Approved Sites tab.
7. Remove all the Web sites that are listed. To do this, click a listed Web site, and then click Remove. Do this for each listed site.This includes the sites that you want to approve.
8. Close all Internet Explorer windows.
9. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
10. Locate and then click the following subkey in the registry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Ratings\PICSRules\.Default\0

11. Create a backup of this subkey. To do this, click File, click Export, type a name for the subkey backup, and then click Save.
12. Delete all the subkeys in the following subkey in the registry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Ratings\PICSRules\.Default\0

    Caution Do not delete the following entries in the subfolder:

    Name	Value	Type
    Default	value not set	reg_sz
    dwFlags	0	reg_dword
    errLine	0	reg_dword

    You must delete only the subkeys that are listed under the 0 subkey. Subkeys are represented by yellow folder icons and have names that are similar to the following:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Ratings\PICSRules\.Default\0\PRBUHost

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Ratings\PICSRules\.Default\0\PRBUInternetPattern

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Ratings\PICSRules\.Default\0\PRBUNonWild

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Ratings\PICSRules\.Default\0\PRBUPort

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Ratings\PICSRules\.Default\0\PRBUScheme

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Ratings\PICSRules\.Default\0\PRBUSpecified

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Ratings\PICSRules\.Default\0\PRBUUrl

    To delete these subkeys, right-click each subkey, and then click Delete. Click Yes every time that you are prompted.
13. Exit Registry Editor.
