The Internet Explorer 6 Content Advisor does not correctly screen out objectionable content (913501)

The Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Content Advisor does not correctly screen out objectionable content. When you configure Content Advisor to control access to Web sites, you can still view those sites in the browser.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if you previously used certain virus scanner programs to block specific Web sites.
RESOLUTIONWarning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
- Start Internet Explorer.
- On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- Click the Content tab.
- In the Content Advisor area, click Settings.
- Type the Supervisor password, and then click OK.

If you do not know or have forgotten the Supervisor password, contact Microsoft Product Support Services for help. For more information about how to contact Microsoft Product Support Services, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
- Click the Approved Sites tab.
- Remove all the Web sites that are listed. To do this, click a listed Web site, and then click Remove. Do this for each listed site.This includes the sites that you want to approve.
- Close all Internet Explorer windows.
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
- Locate and then click the following subkey in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Ratings\PICSRules\.Default\0
- Create a backup of this subkey. To do this, click File, click Export, type a name for the subkey backup, and then click Save.
- Delete all the subkeys in the following subkey in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Ratings\PICSRules\.Default\0
Caution Do not delete the following entries in the subfolder:

To delete these subkeys, right-click each subkey, and then click Delete. Click Yes every time that you are prompted.
- Exit Registry Editor.
- Start Internet Explorer, and then configure Content Advisor to control access to Web sites.
