Error 1402: Could not open key "Unknown\Microsoft.MapPoint.wifiscanner.1\CLSID" CAUSEThis issue may occur if permissions to a specific key in the Windows Registry was denied because the registry is corrupted or because of registry permissions.RESOLUTIONWarning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk. - Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
- Delete the following subkeys from the registry:
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.MapPoint.WiFiScanner.1
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.MapPoint.WiFiScanResult
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.MapPoint.WiFiScanResult.1
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.MapPoint.WiFiScanResults10
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.MapPoint.WiFiScanResults10.1
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.MapPoint.WiFiScanner
Note Make sure that you delete every registry key because you will receive a different error message every time that you install the program. - Install the program that you want.
