The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
SYMPTOMSAfter you switch a European Hybrid TV Tuner mode from a Phase Alternation Line (PAL) or a Systeme Electronique Couleur Avec Memoire (SECAM) signal to a Digital Video Broadcasting - Terrestrial/Antenna (DVB-T) signal in Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, Teletext is no longer available. However, if you select MORE INFO, the Teletext option is still available. If you select the Teletext option while you are receiving a DVB-T signal, you receive the following error message:
Ehshell.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the switch to a DVB-T signal incorrectly does not take effect in Media Center until you restart Media Center or restart the computer. Because Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 only supports Hybrid Tuners in one mode at a time, you may receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section. WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, restart Media Center or restart the computer after you switch the tuner mode from a PAL signal or a SECAM signal to a DVB-T signal for the switch to a DVB-T signal to fully take effect.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
