SYMPTOMS
When you use Microsoft Platform Builder 4.2 to build Microsoft Windows
CE-based projects for the ARM processor, the ARM compiler may generate code that causes a Datatype Misalignment exception at run time. This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
- You access memory by using a BYTE pointer.
- The BYTE pointer value is an odd
number.

Prerequisites
This update is supported only if all previously issued updates for
this product have also been applied.
Restart requirement
After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of
the whole platform. To clean the platform, click
Clean on the
Build menu. To build the platform, click
Build
Platform on the
Build menu. You do not have to
restart the computer after you apply this update.
