SYMPTOMS

You insert a graphic that contains a white background or white area into a document in one of the programs that are listed in the "Applies to" section. When you view the document, the background or white area of the graphic may appear as off-white. However, when you print the document, the background or white area of the graphic prints as light gray.

CAUSE

This issue may occur when the graphic is a .png or .bmp graphic.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, open the .png or .bmp graphic in a graphic editor. Then, save the graphic in any one of the following graphic formats:
  • .gif
  • .jpg or .jpeg
  • .tif or .tiff
Then, insert the new graphic into the document.
