SYMPTOMS

When you use the OHotFix program to install Microsoft Office updates, the following event may be logged in the Application log by the installer:

Source: MsiInstaller
Category: None
Type: Warning
Description:
Failed to connect to server. Error: 0x800401F0

Note The error code 0x800401F0 translates to the following error description:

CoInitialize has not been called.

MORE INFORMATION

The event that is logged in the Application log and the error code that is contained in the event message do not indicate an actual problem. You can safely ignore this event and the error code.
