Windows Messenger starts instead when you try to use MSN Messenger in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (905944)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
SYMPTOMS
When you try to use MSN Messenger in Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, Windows Messenger starts instead of MSN Messenger. Additionally, you receive the following message:
You have signed into Messenger on another computer. Click here to sign in again.
For example, if you click Messenger in the MORE PROGRAMS screen in Media Center, you are signed into Windows Messenger. If you were already signed into MSN Messenger, you are signed out of MSN Messenger first and then you are signed into Windows Messenger.CAUSEThis issue occurs because Media Center does not support MSN Messenger.
