The Live TV channel changes when you pause Live TV and then press OK on the MCE remote control in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (905943)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005

SYMPTOMS

When you pause Live TV in Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, and then you press OK on the Media Center Edition (MCE) remote control, the Live TV channel changes. When this occurs, the pause buffer for the previous channel is lost. Therefore, you cannot go back to the previous channel and resume from the point where you paused Live TV.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the OK button on the MCE remote control is designed to also act as a "switch to the previous channel" button. When you press OK or ENTER on the MCE remote control, Media Center switches to the previous channel that you were watching.
