Tracks that you added to the "NOW PLAYING" queue are no longer listed after you watch Live TV or a video in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (905936)

SYMPTOMS

You add tracks to the "NOW PLAYING" queue in Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. After you watch Live TV or a video, the tracks are no longer listed in the "NOW PLAYING" queue when you open My Music again. The "NOW PLAYING" queue is reset.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, save the "NOW PLAYING" queue as a playlist before you watch Live TV or a video. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Add the tracks that you want to the "NOW PLAYING" queue.
  2. While the tracks are playing, click the inset window on the lower left of the screen.
  3. Click Edit Queue.
  4. Click Save As Playlist.
  5. Type a name for the playlist.
  6. Click Save.
The playlist is available for future playback.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
