The Setup program does not start, and the contents of the CD are displayed when you insert a Microsoft Office program CD (905690)

SYMPTOMSWhen you insert a Microsoft Office program CD into the CD drive, the following symptoms occur: - The Setup program does not start.
- You receive a window that displays the contents of the CD-ROM.
CAUSEThis issue may occur if an equivalent version of the Office program is already installed on the computer. For example, this issue may occur if one of the following situations is true: - You have Microsoft Office 2003 Trial software installed on the computer. You then try to install Microsoft Office 2003 Standard without first removing the Office 2003 Trial software.
- You have a Microsoft Office 2003 Standard program installed on the compute. You then try to install Microsoft Office 2003 Student and Teachers Edition without first removing the Office 2003 Standard program.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, remove the equivalent version of the Office program that is installed on your computer. Then, follow these steps: - Reinsert the Office CD that you want to install into the CD drive to automatically run the Office Setup program
- Click Start, click Run, locate the Setup.exe file that is located on the Office CD, and then click OK.
