SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • A 16-bit MS-DOS-based program opens a Command Prompt window to display a message on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer.
  • The program then opens a named pipe to call a device.
In this scenario, you experience the following symptoms:
  • If the Command Prompt interface appears in a window, the message does not appear until the named pipe is closed.
  • If the Command Prompt interface uses the full screen, the message appears, and the named pipe is opened.
