SYMPTOMS

Statistics may not display correctly for some Microsoft COM+ applications on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003. If you experience this issue, you may see the following symptoms:
  • The process id and the component statistics are not displayed in Component Services for some COM+ applications that are running on the affected computer.
  • If the statistics are not displayed for a COM+ application that Microsoft Application Center Component Load Balancing (CLB) uses, all activation requests are routed to the affected computer.
  • The COM+ System Application service may unexpectedly quit (crash) on the affected computer. When this symptom occurs, an event may be logged in the Application log. This event will have a call stack that is similar to the following: comsvcs!CLinkable::InsertBefore+0x12
    comsvcs!Map<_GUID,CDataPerCLSID *,HashGUID,CFailFastingAllocator>::newAssoc+0x4f
    comsvcs!Map<_GUID,CDataPerCLSID *,HashGUID,CFailFastingAllocator>::add+0x52
    comsvcs!CTrackerServerImpl::PushAppData+0x366
    comsvcs!CTrackerServer::PushAppData+0x29

CAUSE

This problem occurs because race conditions corrupt the hash table that is used for COM+ statistics.
