Corrupted text appears in the End User License Agreement window during the installation of Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (905203)

SYMPTOMS

When you install either of the following operating systems, corrupted text may appear in the End User License Agreement (EULA) window:
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
This symptom occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • Setup allocates memory to hold the Eula.txt file.
  • The memory block that is assigned by the memory manager was previously used to hold other data.
If these previous conditions are true, some of this other data may appear in the EULA window.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, replace the existing files in the Windows installation source files by using the files that are included in this hotfix.
