Incorrect results appear when you drill into a filtered Office Web Component PivotChart on a Web page (905165)

SYMPTOMS

When you drill into a Microsoft Office Web Components (OWC) PivotChart on a Web page that was created in one of the programs that are listed in the "Applies to" section, the PivotChart results may not appear as expected.

For example, assume a situation where you filter (slice) the data that is in an OWC PivotChart. Then, you double-click (drill into) the data points. In this situation, the Web component displays the details of the data.

However, if you then double-click the data point to see additional details, the first filter is removed. Then, additional data points are added to the PivotChart.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur when all the following conditions are true:

Data that is stored in an Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) database or in a cube file was used to create the PivotChart report.
The OWC PivotTable already contains a filter (slice).
You drill into the filtered results of the OWC PivotChart.

After you drill into the filtered OWC PivotChart, the filter is removed and the filtered data retrieves information from all the rows of your database.

WORKAROUND

This behavior is by design. To work around this behavior, link the PivotChart to a PivotTable. Then, use the PivotTable to control the PivotChart.
