Microsoft Word prompts you to map the fields in the Quote template after you click "Print Quote for Customer" in Microsoft CRM Sales for Outlook (899901)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Business Solutions CRM Sales for Outlook, when used with:
- Microsoft CRM 1.2
SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario: - You use a localized version of Microsoft Business Solutions CRM Sales for Outlook (the Outlook client). For example, you use a French language version.
- In Microsoft CRM Sales for Outlook, you create a new quote or open an existing quote.
- On the File menu, you click Print Quote for Customer.
In this scenario, Microsoft Office Word automatically starts, and you are prompted to select a template, as you expect. However, if you click the Mail Merge tab and then double-click Quote to open the Quote template, Word prompts you to map the various fields in this template to create the Word document. You do not expect to have to manually map the fields in the Quote template to create the Word document. CAUSEThis problem occurs because the Print Quote for Customer functionality is not localized for non-English language versions of Microsoft CRM Sales for Outlook.RESOLUTIONMicrosoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article: 904435 Update Rollup 2 is available for Microsoft CRM 1.2
