You receive the "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action" error message when you try to print a portfolio report in Portfolio Manager in Money 2005 (899632)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to print a portfolio report in Portfolio Manager in Microsoft Money 2005, you may receive the following error message:

This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel.

This issue may occur if one of the following conditions is true:

A third-party Web browser is set as the default Web browser on the computer.
The default Web browser that is used is AOL, and the AOL Web browser is upgraded.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

Start Microsoft Windows Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
In the Folder Options dialog box, click the View tab.
In the Advanced settings list, click Show hidden files and folders, and then click OK.
In Windows Explorer, locate and then double-click the following folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp
In the Temp folder contents, right-click temp, and then click Open With.
In the Programs list, click Internet Explorer.
Click to select the Always use the selected program to open this kind of file check box, and then click OK.
Quit Windows Explorer.
Start Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Open the C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp\temp.htm file in Internet Explorer, and then print the file.
Close the file, and then quit Internet Explorer.
Start Money 2005, and then try to print the portfolio report in Portfolio Manager.

You can print the portfolio report.
