When you try to modify a schema attribute's display name by using Microsoft CRM Deployment Manager, you receive an error message, and Event ID 0 is logged in the Application log (899489)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to modify a schema attribute's display name by using Microsoft Business Solutions CRM Deployment Manager, you experience all the following symptoms: CAUSEThis problem occurs if the following conditions are true: - The schema attribute is one of the following types:
- You type an entry that has more than 18 characters in the Display name box of that schema attribute.
Note This problem only occurs when you try to modify a schema attribute. This problem does not occur when you create a new schema attribute that has a Display name entry of more than 18 characters and that has a type of Boolean or Picklist. RESOLUTIONMicrosoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, follow these steps: - On the Microsoft CRM 1.2 server, click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft CRM, and then click Deployment Manager.
- In Microsoft CRM Deployment Manager, expand Schema Manager.
- Expand the record type that contains the schema attribute that you want to modify. For example, expand Lead.
- Under that record type, click Attributes.
- In the right pane, right-click the schema attribute that you want to modify, and then click Properties.
- In the Display name box, type a display name that has 18 characters or less, and then click OK.
Note The display name must not contain spaces.
