SYMPTOMSAfter your user account has been configured to receive e-mail in Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.2, you may experience the following problem. When you try to open an e-mail message in the Microsoft CRM 1.2 Web client, you receive the following error message: Access Denied You do not have sufficient access rights or privileges to perform this action. CAUSEThis problem occurs when the following conditions are true: - You have a security role assigned that gives only user-level access to the activity.
- You receive an e-mail message that has been sent to multiple recipients.
This problem occurs because Microsoft CRM selects one of the CRM e-mail recipients as the e-mail activity owner when Microsoft CRM receives an incoming e-mail message. Microsoft CRM does not share this e-mail activity to the other Microsoft CRM e-mail recipients. If you have only user-level permissions assigned to the activity, you can view only the details of the activities that are currently assigned to you or the activities that have been shared to you. Because Microsoft CRM does not share the e-mail activity to other recipients, you receive the "Access Denied" error message when you try to view the details of the e-mail activity. RESOLUTIONMicrosoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article: 904435 Update Rollup 2 is available for Microsoft CRM 1.2
