FIX: The MSDTC service does not start in a stand-alone cluster after you install Windows Server 2003 with SP1 (899426)

SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) on a stand-alone cluster, the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) service does not start when a local quorum resource is used. When this problem occurs, the following Error event is logged in the Application log:Event Type: Error

CAUSE

This problem occurs because MSDTC does not correctly identify the local quorum resource in the stand-alone cluster.

RESOLUTION
