SYMPTOMS
When you change permissions settings for a Common Internet File System (CIFS) shared folder for a user account, the user account may appear two times in the Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 Web user interface (UI). Each instance of the user account displays different account permissions.CAUSE
This issue occurs because the Windows Storage Server 2003 Web UI displays the union of the permissions for the shared folder. The issue occurs when you use the Windows Explorer Share Permissions properties page for the shared folder to give the user account less restrictive permissions.
Note When this issue occurs, correct effective permissions are in effect.RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, examine the two instances of the user account, and then delete the one that has the most restrictive permissions.
