This hotfix package fixes the following issue:
897577 You receive an "Another version of this product is installed" error message when you try to help protect or to open an IRM document in an Office 2003 program
This hotfix package also fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- When you click a hyperlink in an Office 2003 document to open a file, a second copy of the file is opened. This issue may occur when the following conditions are true:
- The file is in a different folder than the Office 2003 document.
- The file is already open in another program.
- If you open an Office 2003 file that is an attachment to an e-mail message in Outlook Web Access (OWA) over HTTP, you are prompted for your user name and for your password.
If you type your user name and your password, the file opens as expected when you click OK.
However, if you click Cancel, you are prompted again for your user name and for your password. After you repeatedly click Cancel to cancel the request for your user name and for your password, the file is opened as read-only.
