SYMPTOMSWhen you use Event Viewer to view the properties of an event log in Microsoft Windows 2000, in Microsoft Windows XP, and in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the abbreviated file size is incorrect for the Size value. For example, the actual size of the Application log may be 29.3 megabytes (MB). However, the Size value in the Application log properties shows 29.0 MB.
You can see the correct file size when you view the AppEvent.evt file properties by using Windows Explorer.CAUSEThis problem occurs because of the way that Event Viewer calculates the file size of an event log.STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
