The show on the channels is different from what is displayed in the Electronic Program Guide in Windows XP Media Center Edition (896473)

  • Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition

SYMPTOMS

If you tune Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition to a channel, the actual show on the channel may not be the same show that is displayed in the Electronic Program Guide.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if a shared channel is broadcasting a specific station for a specific time and is broadcasting a different station for the rest of that time. For example, channel 17 provides TNT from 5 am until 6 pm. Between 6 pm and 5 am, channel 17 provides the Home Shopping Network. When the first run is performed, both of the channels that share the same frequency are enabled. If you customize the channel line-up, only one of the shared channels is displayed in the Electronic Program Guide. After you do this, the information that is displayed in the guide only matches the selected channel. The other shared channel is still shown at the accepted times. However, the Electronic Program Guide does not display the corresponding information.
