This article describes the SharePoint Portal Server 2003 issue that is fixed in the SharePoint Portal Server 2003 post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package that is dated March 28, 2005.

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- An access violation occurs in the Tquery.dll component
An access violation occurs in the Tquery.dll component in SharePoint Portal Server 2003. If the correct symbols are installed on the server, the Dr. Watson log or the corresponding User.dmp file may contain a call stack that is similar to the following:0:012> k

Additionally, an event ID 1001 error message may be logged to the application log. When this issue occurs, users cannot access or use the portal site. When users try to access or use the portal site, they receive error messages. You may have to restart the servers in the server farm before users can access or use the portal site.
