Administrators cannot use the Server Appliance Kit Web UI interface to manage shares in a domain that was migrated from Windows 2000 to Windows Server 2003 (895494)

- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server SP4
SYMPTOMSAdministrators may not be able to use the Web user interface (UI) for the Microsoft Server Appliance Kit (SAK) to remotely manage shares and domain users if the SAK-based server is on a domain that was migrated from Microsoft Windows 2000 to Microsoft Windows Server 2003.
Administrators may receive the following message when they
manage a share:Unable to locate the specified user name
Domain\UserNameRESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, administrators must use Terminal
Services to remotely manage the shares and the domain users on the SAK-based
server. STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
in the "Applies to" section.
