The computer stops responding for a short time and Event 2022 is logged to the System log in Windows Server 2000 with SP4 (893374)

CAUSE

This problem occurs because a conflict between the Microsoft server device driver (Srv.sys) and a third-party filter driver creates a deadlock.

The Srv.sys module provides file access to remote network clients. This module is designed to block threads in the Srv.sys process when another thread accesses a file by using a special flag (FILE_COMPLETE_IF_OPLOCKED).

The opportunistic lock (oplock) mechanism helps a program open a file that is being used by another program. A deadlock occurs if an oplock call is made to the Srv.sys driver at the same time that other threads in the Srv.sys process are waiting for the initial call to be completed.
