A question mark (?) is displayed instead of the available reports in Microsoft CRM 1.2 Report Manager (892858)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft CRM 1.2

SYMPTOMS

The report list is not correctly displayed in the browser when you use Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.2 Report Manager. A question mark (?) is displayed instead of the available reports. This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • You are running an English (United States) version of Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or of Microsoft Windows Server 2003.
  • You are running the Russian version of Microsoft CRM 1.2.
  • The Crystal Enterprise services are running as the Local System account.

CAUSE

Russian or Serbian (Cyrillic) characters are not correctly interpreted by Crystal Enterprise services. This problem occurs if the user account that is used to run the Crystal Enterprise services is the Local System account.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, change the account that is used to run the Crystal Enterprise services from the Local System account to the administrator account in Microsoft CRM 1.2. Make sure that the regional option for this account is set to Russian or to Serbian (Cyrillic).

Note To verify the regional option, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Regional and Language Options.
