INTRODUCTION

This article discusses a configuration issue that you must consider when you configure an IP address as the next hop in a static route in Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005.

MORE INFORMATION

In Live Communications Server 2005, you can add a static route on a Live Communications Server 2005 Proxy server. In this scenario, when you configure an IP address as the next hop in a static route, do not click to select the Replace host in request URI check box in the Add Static Route dialog box. To view these settings, follow these steps:
  1. Start the Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 tool.
  2. Expand your forest, expand Proxy Servers, right-click your Proxy server, and then click Properties.
  3. Click the Routing tab, and then click Add.
  4. Under Next hop, click IP address.
  5. Type the IP address of the next hop router.
  6. Do not click to select the Replace host in request URI check box.
Additionally, when you configure the static route settings on the next hop Proxy server, you must use the same value in the Domain box as you configured in the Add Static Route dialog box on this Proxy server.

For additional information about how to configure a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)/public switched telephone network (PSTN) gateway, see the Live Communications Server 2005 Deployment Series guides. To view this support information, follow these steps:
  1. Start the Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 tool.
  2. Expand your forest, and then click the Resources tab in the right pane.
  3. Under Technical Documentation, click Live Communications Server 2005 Deployment Series.
