FIX: You receive a "Msg 3628" error message when you run an inner join query in SQL Server 2000 (889166)

Introduction

Issues that are fixed by this hotfix package

The following problem is fixed in this SQL Server 2000 hotfix package:
  • When you run an inner join query, you receive an error message that is similar to the following:
    Msg 3628, Level 16, State 1
    A floating point exception occurred in the user process. Current transaction is canceled
    This exception can cause a Float Stack Check exception (0xC0000092) if you run the query again. This exception causes the query to quit and rolls back active transactions.
