Changes that you make in the ISA Server 2004 firewall client program are not applied to all users (888646)

SYMPTOMS

If you install the Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004 firewall client program, changes that you make in the program after installation are not applied to some users.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the settings that you specify during the firewall client program installation are applied to all users. Any settings that you specify in the Firewall Client dialog box after you install the firewall client program are applied only to the client computer.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, use one of the following methods:

Manually change the Common.ini and Management.ini firewall client files. The Common.ini and Management.ini files are located in the following folder:
Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Firewall Client 2004
Use the Fwctool.exe tool to configure the settings.
