First Run Wizard does not offer a display connection type for portable computers in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (887280)

SYMPTOMS

When you first start Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 on your portable computer, the First Run Wizard prompts you to select one of the following display connection types: Composite or S-Video
DVI or VGA
Component (YPbPr) No options are listed for portable computers or for computers with built-in displays.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, select the DVI or VGA option when you are prompted to select the display connection type in the First Run Wizard.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
