SYMPTOMSWhen you test your active Internet connection on the An
Internet Connection is Setup page of the Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition
2005 Setup Wizard, the
Internet connection will pass the test, even though the test may not use the Internet
connection during the test.CAUSEAn active Internet connection will not be properly tested in Media Center if the connection to the Internet is already established. Make sure that your dial-up Internet connection is disconnected before you test the connection in Media Center. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, disconnect the
existing Internet connection, and then re-configure Media Center Edition 2005 to
use a different Internet connection. To re-configure the
Internet connection, follow these steps:
- Press the Windows Media Center Start
button on the Media Center remote control.
- Select Settings.
- Select General.
- Select Media Center Setup.
- Select Set Up Internet Connection.
A
wizard will guide you through the process of re-configuring your Internet
connection.
