You cannot use the Client Push Installation method to install the Systems Management Server 2003 client components by using a computer that appears in a query results list (886129)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to use the Client Push Installation method to install the Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 client components on a computer that appears in a query results list, you experience the following symptoms: - SMS 2003 client components are not installed on the computer.
- You receive messages that are similar to the following in the driveletter:\Sms\Logs\Smsprov.log file:*

CAUSEThis problem occurs when the query that generates the results list does not include the resourceID attribute. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, modify your query to include the resourceID attribute in the results list, run the query again, and then use the Client Push Installation method. To do this, follow these steps: - Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Systems Management Server, and then click SMS Administrator Console.
- Expand Site Database (SiteCode - SiteName), and then expand Queries.
- Click Client Installation Methods, right-click Client Push Installation, and then click Properties.
- Right-click the query that does not include the resourceID attribute in the results list, and then click Properties.
- Click the General tab, and then click Edit Query Statement.
- Right-click anywhere in the Results box, and then click New.
- In the Result Properties dialog box, click Select.
- In the Attribute class box, click System.
- In the Attribute box, click Resource ID, and then click OK four times.
- In the SMS Administrator Console, right-click the query that you modified, and then click Run Query.
- In the right pane, right-click the system where you want to push the SMS client, point to All Tasks, click Install Client, and then follow the instructions on the Client Push Installation Wizard pages.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
