Session Summary

Thursday, August 26, 2004

The Support WebCast discusses how Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) offers users and administrators the latest security and stability updates. Microsoft has provided major updates for all the Office 2003 products, including Business Contact Manager, OneNote, InfoPath, Project, Visio, Windows SharePoint Services, and SharePoint Portal Server. This session will cover some of the top fixes that are included in the main Office 2003 SP1 update. It will also discuss some of the best practices to use when deploying SP1 in the enterprise-computing environment. It will review some of the SP1 enhancements for OneNote, InfoPath, and SharePoint. Finally, it will discuss the new Enterprise version of EntSetup.exe and the new LISTool.exe. The LISTool.exe file gives administrators a supported method to move and repair missing or damaged Office 2003 .cab files that are stored in the local Msocache folder.

This is a Level 300 session presented by Joe Sexton.

Joe Sexton joined Microsoft in January 1996. He has worked in product support for Windows platforms, Internet Explorer, and Office programs. Joe spent three years on the Premier Office Deployment team, and has been involved with both Office XP SP3 and Office 2003 SP1 Beta programs for the last year.
